Problem Using SparQ 1.0 Drive on lap top W/ Vista

I am having trouble trying to use my External SparQ drive On my HP pavilion laptop running Windows Vista. My laptop does not have a parallel port. I have a USB to Parallel cable connecting the drive to the laptop. When I turn on the laptop it sort of finds the drive but installs it as USB printer support/no printer attached. If I try to change the drivers using the ephdw2k.inf it says that it is not a 32 bit driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have another SparQ drive running on my desktop PC running Win XP with no problems.
