thanks tim,
i would like to provide you with that information but there is not a serial no.that i can find, this unit has only
young and sons
philadelphia
patented aug' 17. 1875
inside the box it has wm young and sons on a tag.
the entire body is brass with metal compass face and black lettering.there are alinment tabs attached to the top which flip up.
the brass is tarnished, but no corrosion or degragation of the brass. all the level vials are in tact,
right now i don't have a photo available as both my digtital cameras are traveling, but that will soon end and i will get on off to you. if you have any ideas as to where i might find an id #,
there is one scale i have questions about, inside the compass compartment there is a 30 degree scale, this is in addition to the a and b scale. one other item, the vertical angle scale only goes to 70 degrees. this has me thinking that this is a level and not a transit?
any additional help would be appreciated and thanks for what you have provided
