I have a very nice circa 1870 antique brass railroad compass for sale; it has a great old patina brass finish. A “railroad compass has a plate to read an angle like a transit, this one has a window to do just that. It is 16 inches long with a 5 inch long compass needle, and a 6 inch plate. It comes with the original box & sight vanes, no tripod. Someone has made a leveling base out of the original swivel mount, the swivel mount can easily be changed back to its original condition if desired. Also one of the sight vanes is newer, I believe it is still original pre-1900 Gurley but just not as worn as the other. Price is $3250.00 & I will pay postage within the USA. I have many additional photos I will email on request.
