Posted by charley priddy both sides of Cocoa Isles Blvd from Catalina to Santa Cruz seemed to have the most damage in that section of Cocoa Isles. the first house lost their pool enclosure; next door lost four 40 to 50 foot palm trees - they snapped about half way up - while the 80 footers survived; sections of the new vinyl fence at the next house were flattened. a couple of 20 - 30 foot oaks were lost on the north side of Cocoa Isles Blvd. i drove down Santa Cruz, went right on Trinidad and took another right on Samar back to Cocoa Isles Blvd. a small tree on the corner of Santa Cruz and Trinidad (Karen Jalko Keck's home years ago) was down. on Samar, between Trinidad and Cocoa Isles Blvd., there were lots of small limbs down from the dense canopy of the oaks on that section of Samar. properties with open NE exposures tended to have more damage then those that were sheltered. and the further south you went there was more of it. i went out to CBHS to check out the trees at Beach Walk. just one of the queen palms was slightly tilted. Jim Guest did and the landscapers did a fantastic job planting out there as it is totally exposed to the winds from every direction. a couple of the larger oaks (50+ feet), on the east side of the circle drive in front of CBHS were down. i proceeded down south Orlando to West Point to deliver some ice to friends on Bayshore Drive. the same debris pattern held true there. most of the debris was tree limbs, leaves, and shingles. the power had been restored there about an hour before i arrived. sand from the beach was on both sides of South and North Atlantic Ave as i went back up the beach. the older ocean front buildings took the biggest hit, especially the buildings north and south of Minutemen Causeway up. the newer construction seemed to have survived in tact. charley

Hi Ann,
i have two houses on Cocoa Isles Blvd and managed to see them yesterday, the 7th, - only leaves, small limbs from the oaks, and shingles from the neigbors roof littered the yards. i didn't do the Bali-Nassau circle. i can ask my tenant to drive down Nassau and take notes. email me the house number number on Nassau and he'll check it out. knowing him he'll take pictures and email them.
