Posted by charley priddy At this time seven major airlines: AirTran, Alaska, American, Delta, Pan Am, Southwest and United are participating by allowing their frequent flyers to donate unused miles, tickets, or units to the troops arriving stateside in Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW), or Atlanta (ATL) from Germany. The Military furnishes flights from Germany to BWI, DFW or ATL then it's the responsibility of the soldier to pay for their domestic travel within the U.S. after arriving stateside to reach their final destination. Your donated miles, tickets, or units will provide the soldier on R & R or Emergency Leave a ticket to their final destination without having to purchase the last minute high priced from a carrier to get home. If you, a family member, or someone you know has excess frequent flier miles please donate them to help our troops get home to their families tomorrow. Please visit the web site at http://www.heromiles.org. There are links to each participating carrier with the instructions each carrier requires the donor to follow to make a donation of miles, units or tickets. Some carriers are matching the donations that are made. You will be making a difference for one of our soldiers to get home on this well deserved leave. Your donation will be greatly appreciated!
