the following is the obituary that will appear in the local newspaper. I would like everyone to seriously consider donating to the Steve Petro Scholarship Fund as a tribute to what was near and dear to Steve, the youth of our community.

Obituary
He was born in Binghamton, NY and had lived in Brevard County since 1964. Steve worked for the Cocoa Beach Police Department since 1975 and held the rank of sergeant.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Cocoa Beach Lodge #159, Cocoa Beach High School Alumni Assn., and the Quarterback Club. Steve was a past Resource Officer at Cocoa Beach High School and was involved in many of the schools organizations and activities.
He is survived by his mother, Velma Petro Lee of Cocoa Beach; brothers, Robert (Dianna) Petro of Cocoa Beach, Bruce (Bonnie) Petro of Merritt Island, David (Lori) Petro of Titusville and Daniel Petro of Cocoa Beach; his loving fiancé, Jeanie Edmunds of Merritt Island; daughter, Terri Ruth, step children; step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00AM until 1:00PM Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa Beach, 830 S. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach. Services will follow at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steve Petro Scholarship Fund, C/O: Cocoa Beach Alumni Assn., P.O. Box 320084, Cocoa Beach, FL 32932-0084
Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home in Cocoa Beach is in charge of arrangements.
