My only thought is, that if you are trying to access the site from your workplace, then your company firewall may have taken a dislike to the site for some reason. This does happen, and I've just read an e-mail from a police officer who accesses the site from home, but his workplace firewall refuses him access. Other than that, I can't explain - sorry.

Following your last message, I've carefully checked all the pages and images, and all the links are fine. I've also run it through a widely available W3C DTD HTML 4.0 debugger, and it all looks good - in fact it only found 8 html errors in 27 pages, which means I'm a genius 
. We've only displayed 31 404 pages over the past fortnight, which is very low for any site.
