Spiritual means "of or related to the spirit." This can start with wanting to talk to ghosts, angels, god, etc. and culminates in universal oneness. This can be described as the dissolution of the "I", a oneness with God, etc. There are an infinite number of ways to talk about the final result and none of them will be totally right for reasons I won't go into right now. People's experience and desire dictates what they are trying to get out of "spirituality" which can very easily end up being vastly different.
