"The SOLE REASON we are here experiencing this vibrational frequency we call physical reality is because of cause and effect."
Whether karma is real or not depends on your perspective. I have faith that when a Nisargadatta, Maharshi or a sutra tells me that karma can be wiped out, that it is ultimately unreal and may be immediately discarded as unreal during the meditation or enquiry process. Without karma, experiencing remains, but the difference is that there is no experiencer. The split between experiencer and experience -- subject and object -- disappears.
Karma requires (human) volition and is not merely a matter of simple causality. It's a matter of active choice, but the problem of who chooses remains. No on one to choose? Ultimately no volition -- no volition, no karma.
The realized person, having surpassed mind, has also surpassed karma. That person, though appearing to effect action, does not. His is the impartial witness that simply watches it all happen.
What's that in the Tao that says the master walks but leaves no footprints? Leaving no footprints is the signature statement explaining that in this universe, there can be uncaused effects.
Having said that, causality is tricky because no one effect can be traced to a single cause. One could say that when a bird chirps, the entire universe has mobilized to make it happen. Causality is holographic in nature; everything that happens is the result of everything that happens. As a stament of logic, one could also say that nothing in particular makes the bird chirp. Both are equivalent statements.
Karma and the remainder of the manifest world appears and disappears with the ego. Karma can and should be investigated and used as a stepping stone to go beyond it.
