I've heard, and found this to be the case in my own Awakening that, as you start to discover that life does not exist in the way you thought, the difference between spiritual growth and madness at times is the ability to BE crazy without ACTING crazy. For some reason, no matter how bad it got for me or how crazy I felt, there was always this connection, almost like an invisible cord or tether to an awareness of what being normal "meant." Thus, I never completely broke touch with "reality" even if I felt pretty far away from it at times. I find that this starts to integrate, although I will not tell it's going to be okay, because it's not, although you'll probably be glad of that at some point.
Also, Peter gives great practical advise. Stay grounded. This means get exercise, eat well, that sort of thing.
