"The only "esoteric teacher" you need to discover is your inner-Self, and that doesn't come from outside. It is an internal experience.."
I further the protest of bollocks, because in the above statement you do not demonstrate even at a conceptual level that distinctions such as "internal" and "external" as it relates to experience are essentially those of the body. That's where you appear to be drawing the line.
The true guru is everywhere, inside the confines of the flesh as well as outside. Even Sri Ramana Maharshi has taught methods of inquiry that focus on objects in the environment as well as inquiry into the "I Am." One can find their salvation by penetrating into such questions as "what is the essence of this glass of water," as well as the usual "Who am I?"
The sadguru makes no distinctions as to where and when it appears, so why should you?
