There is the concept of the inner teacher, which to me means consciousness itself basically - in which case everything can be your teacher - or rather life itself is. That said, sometimes even the worst human teacher can end up being a learning experience - not because they are any good as a teacher but we sometimes learn through that kind of experience. Often people will want you to follow them or at least their way of thinking whether they consider themselves teachers or not, but someone who is just a spiritual friend (evidently what this board is intended for) is just a fellow traveler that is willing to walk with you. Teachings may happen, but they will respect you rather than sit around making statements of fact without being engaged with you or life itself.
