I am not in Iowa. I am from India. I am writing this to make a request.
I was much impressed by Jed McKenna's "spiritual enlightenment - the damndest thing". However, there seems to be a seious allegation that the book, although autobiographical in format, is a fiction. Jed McKenna does not exist, nor does his ashram or students. Most importantly, his claim about his success rate as a teacher, falls apart. I feel devastated and at a loss to decide anything on this issue. The book says that his Ashram is in Iowa. His publisher, Wisefool Press IS in Iowa (the name suggests that it may be his own company). The address is
Wisefool Press
308 E Burlington St,294
Iowa City, IA 52240.
Can you please give some try to find something more about Jed, the person, his Ashram or students, if any? I am in India and hardly can make any serious enquiry. Since you are a spiritual seeker yourself, I thought this may be of some personal interest to you also.
Thanks,
Partha
