I recommend you look into the work of Adyashanti. He holds Satsang and retreats in California and also does a little traveling, but not much. He is the real deal. His website is Adyashanti.org. Or you can find out something about him, at Open Gate Sangha (I hope I've spelled that correctly. He has been upgraded on some other guru rating sites, right up there with Ramani Maharshi.
