Dear Stacey,
I was in search of friends on the net having similar spiritual inclinations and I landed on this site. I read your messages and it pained me so much that I am forced to write with a hope that it gives you light and strength.
I have studied various religions (Hinduism (Upanishads, Bhagwat Geeta etc.), Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Pagan, Christianity etc. I am don't claim to be an expert in any of these but I am aware of their teachings. I have studied Upanishads and Bhagwat Geeta and teachings of Lord Buddha in depth.
Right from my childhood I have been interested in spirituality and try to seek answers to questions like - " Who am I ? Am I the body ? Where did I originate from ? Is there a God ? If yes, how to reach Him. etc. etc." I don't have any spiritual teacher except God. He is the only guide to me till date. But I am not unhappy and for the same reason, I feel that you also shouldn't be.
At your age, your craving for spritualiy is a very good sign. May be your prevous lives' "Karmas" are leading you towards enlightment. However, your pains are because of your attachments. It is coming out of your loneliness. You are craving for bonding. This makes you weak. You are prone to commit mistake in identifying a true master and prone to getting cheated in the process.
a) Conquer your cravings for worldly pleasures experienced by senses - You needn't become a Nun. You can have worldly pleasures as they come naturally to you but you must be the master and not the slave. Meditation and practice of Yoga helps.
b) Everything in this world is manifestation of God Himself. Fill yourself with immense love. Be a Giver of Love and not a seeker of Love. By being the seeker of love, YOU ARE A BEGGAR. BE THE MASTER.
c)Lord Buddha said "APPO DEEPO BHAVA" i.e. Be the LIGHT Yourself. You are the candle. The need is to light it.
