Thanks for the memories of South Coast Radio.
While Radio Nova is widely regarded as the best pirate of all time in Ireland, people must not forget that here in Cork we had E.R.I and South Coast which were top class stations.The original
South Coast in particular , while not lasting as long as E.R.I was a very slick machine.
Brilliant presenters such as Peter O'Neill, Alan Reid, John Kenny, John Lewis, Keith York,Hugh Brown , Tony Allan,Nick Richards,and many more.
As the jingle went '' south coast lifts you up, all the way up ''
It certainly lifted the people of Cork in a time when recession, jobs losses, and emigration were
the norm.
To you Mr Stevens I take my hat off and thank you for the great times you brought to our dear old city by the Lee
