shame the shop is closing ,
i have some very fond memories of all the shops ,(abbey mall , northside , finglas)and of coarse liffey st.
the constant battle to beat someone to the record deck (and later them damn newmark cd decks) just to hear the "next big track" as derek would describe it , or "a pile of s*"te as it would turn out to be. lol
i was lucky enough to have my radio show on club fm sponsord by billy
"the abbey disc listeners top 20" every sunday-- ohhhhh the memories of dragging myself out of bed to be on at 3pm !!!!!
(always a good night in the harp on a sat !)
but the one thing i will never ever forget is the day billy gave me the one , the only copy in the country at the time , of robert miles - children (on RECORD) not cd
played it that sunday and the reaction was AMAZING ........
best of luck - billy , derek, tara and all the staff
