...So I crossed 13,500 miles to Australia in 1989 to achieve one thing: AVOID THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST! But of course SBS (Special Broadcasting Services) TV station insists on broadcasting this show every year, and I am watching it now. Simply because I can't help myself. I was brought up with it, and its a kinda catholic guilt I get if I don't watch it! (Even though I'm not catholic!). Terry is there, being fed from the BBC, and is as sarcastic as ever, I'm eating peanuts and drinking my beer, and my aussie girlfriend is going "WHAT ISSSSSSS THIS STUFF???". haha! I tell her only about 100 million people are watching this...she is bemused. So am I...ah well...My first memory of the eurovision was 1970 (I was 8) and "All kinds of everything" by Dana made it number one for Ireland. Anyone else remember that? Or am I just realllllyyyy old????
