Sunshine opened on 28th September 1980.
The first Sunshine Radio News bulletin was at 8am on Tuesday 28th October 1980 (I'd negotiated the bank holiday off before starting). As Robbie said at the time: "Tuesday is News-day...". By that stage (one month after opening) we were operating out of the purpose-built studio upstairs at the back of the hotel.
