I replied to a posting by Nick I hope that was forwarded to you, I had a TIA 2 years ago, though not as severe as Chris's first stroke, let me tell you it is a bewildering and thoroughly unpleasant exprience, and I still feel the confusion and loneliness of not knowing where I was after the incident, and also realising that I had several warnings priot to the event. The aftermath haunts to me to this day, the specialists talk in percentages of it happening again.
I didn't even know if I was still married, whether that had been a dream or if the state I found myself in was reality. Although there are no phyiscal side effects the mental ones do stay with the victim, and that is what is not understood.
I'd love to get involved, if you think I can help email me.
I was a former pirate myself coincidentally, but on the Ross Revenge.
