I've just updated my website with a tribute to Chris. While putting it together it just made me remember what an amazing life Chris had.
I heard him on Caroline South but it never really hit me exactly how brave he was. On August 14th 1967, everyone ran away from Caroline apart from Chris and just three others as far as the South ship was concerned. He was a 21 year old raw novice but was determined to give it a go and seize his chance. He obviously knew no far !
Station hijacks, massive rallies, fighting governments, going to jail then escaping to New Zealand ! We've got to have the book !
For me it was the RNI era that did it.He was one of a small band of three or four deejays who inspired me so much in my schooldays and made me want to become a deejay.
Thanks Chris, I'll never forget those days when radio meant everything in my life.
