The word legend gets used far too much these days with even X-Factor and Pop Idols being given the title by the media like McDonalds give away free toys. However a true legend comes to play Mr Kyps on the 19th November.
Mark E Smith is the frontman of the post-punk outfit The Fall, having released over 27 albums since their formation in 1976 they are one of the most prolific bands the UK have produced.
Music Critic Steve Huey described The Fall as "abstract poetry filled with complicated wordplay, bone-dry wit, cutting social observations, and general misanthropy (sometimes more implied than clearly stated, but apparent nonetheless)."
The band were championed by the late great John Peel and it is no surprise that Smith named the band after the great French philosopher Albert Camus. The members of The Fall are devoted readers, with Smith citing H.P. Lovecraft, Raymond Chandler, and Malcolm Lowry among his favorite writers. The Fall's music was intentionally raw and repititive. The song "Repetition", declaring that "we've repetition in the music, and we're never going to lose it", served as a manifesto for The Fall's musical philosophy.
This is going to be one show which is certainly not to miss and will be sure to go down is Kyps history as a legendary show preformed by a true musical legend himself.
