An extraordinary FORBi>>EN PL^NE¬ takes place this Mon 29th June @ The Winchester:
We welcome birthday boy Moomin & his merry rock'n'roll combo, GROTT PARTY http://www.myspace.com/grottparty
On UK tour, two of Holland's finest female punk bands, THE SUICIDAL BIRDS & PONY PACK
http://www.myspace.com/suicidalbirds http://www.myspace.com/ponypack
According to Tex La Homa's Matt Shaw, The Suicidal Birds are absolutely huge not only in Holland but also across much of Europe, "They'll tear the roof off!" predicts the globe-trotting La Homan. Ta for tha heads up, Matty. TSB are crashing in their tour van, but tha PP gals seek overnight floorspace - offers?
If Monday featured just these 3 bands it would indeed be special, but FORBi>>EN PL^NE¬ likes to twist tha melon of artful expectation that bit further...
Lorafab's post-Absolute Darlings foray into theatre came as no surprise to any who'd witnessed her uninhibited/confrontational between-song antics, but reached a whole new level with a highly successful one-woman show @ The Edinburgh Fringe Festival a few years back, being conceived, written, promoted & performed entirely by Laura Griffin to critical acclaim. THE POCKETS PROGRESSION, a fluid collective of like-minded actors, singers & musicians, was then founded to enact larger concepts, & we are delighted to present a special version of Laura's brand new play, "2012...In The Garden Of The Conscious Presence (without Dave)", featuring a troupe of live musicians including her Glowglobes partner, John Holmes http://www.thepocketsprogression.com/2012.htm
The play will be preceeded by Ali Sharpe's 30-piece Gospel Community Choir, hopefully feat Paul Reeves' African Drum Circle, assuming Paul makes it back from Glasto home & dry...
DJ, live mix & film vizuals: PU (Sonic Arkestra)
8pm doors : free entry : midnight bar
6pm access for Suicidal drumkit (own sn/cyms/ped) & Pony bass-rig (Grott bass-rig also advised!)
This night offers a foretaste of Grooves On The Green, Sun 12th July, both in the park with Ali's choir @ 1pm & @ Mr Kyps for the official Grooves afterparty with Grott Party & My Broken 101 from 7.30pm
