After sixteen happy months @ Sixty Million Postcards, Solid Air's Monday night residency comes to an end on 26th Jan
Ents Manager, Nick, has just advised me that, despite apparently good turnouts, the bar has only been taking £100 more than Wednesdays (which has no live music).
This is somewhat bewildering news, as the whole of Dec & the first 2 weeks of Jan have been among our best crowds ever. I can only assume that gov/industry directives urging peeps to 'drink responsibly' have been more effective than previously thought. Contrary to this, Solid Air's fortnightly Pink Moon gatherings @ Chaplins have been generating £750+ in a bar that barely holds 50 peeps
The nine Solid Air Adventures in Feb/March are fully-booked with 36 wildly eclectic acts ready to go, from acoustic singer-songwriters & bands unplugged, to fully-amped psychedelia & audio-visual experimental electronica. Perhaps of greater interest to potential hosts looking to expand into the unpredictable world of original live music, is instant access to the kind of local artist goodwill that cannot be bought, a cool Void Acoustics sound system, groovy lights, 1080p HD projector & 16'x9' screen - the whole shebang
Any takers?
