i just finish with my 2nd A rated show this year on my new green horse. it went very well, so i thought, but i was unhappy to find out that he only placed 2 times out of the 8 times he went. truth is the he is a bit spooky the first few day, this being his 3rd show ever and there were over 40 overs in the clase he was in. when it came time for me to ride him on the weekend my trainer felt that it was better to keep him a bit fresh so that he would jump the fences with great form. my question is: is it more important that a horse jump well in a hunter class but be a little looky (for lack of a better word) or for a horse to just go around acting like it is nothing, but jumping not as well? i was doing the childrens hunter clases, 3' and my trainer doing the pre-greens. thanks for the help
