You can check with your local 4-H extension office or there are several Universities that offer Open Horse Show Judging Certification courses that are nationally recognized. Once you have completed some sort of formal training like these Open Horse Show judges certification courses, the next step is to become experienced. I would suggest that before trying to tackle USEF or AQHA or any breed specific judges cards. Once you gain some experience, the rest will come. Judging is not easy and it's not for ecveryone. It's a good idea to give it a try with local 4-H, fun shows, open shows, or small saddle clubs first before investing too much into it. Then, once you decide that it is for you, you will have a better idea of the direction you want to take with it all. There is incredible opportunity out there for good judges. Good Luck to you.
