Posted by Katie The term 'backed' means different things to different people. Green, of course, means that the horse is very inexperienced. Green and backed are a great combination for experienced horsemen, however these horses are not suitable for those who are nervous or inexperienced. As the old saying goes, "Green + Green = Black & Blue". I'm sure you'll eventually find the right horse. Know that it takes time to find a horse that suits your lifestyle and experience level - the first one isn't always the right one. Take care & good luck! Katie

Hi there,
My interpretation would be that the horse has had the very basics of training (ie: the horse has been haltered, saddled and possibly lunged or ridden at the walk a little bit).
