Posted by Katie While every judge is supposed to be professional, I think there can definately be prejudice in the show ring. With that being said however, prejudice can happen in any sport - not just at horse shows. Also, the majority of judges are professional and do their jobs properly. While you must be a competant rider to be in the show ring anyway, I think that if there is something that will draw more attention to you (whether it be a different coloured show jacket then the other competitors, or a colourful horse) you need to pay extra attention to how you do ride, because more eyes will be watching you.
