Posted by Katie I've never owned a pair of suede half chaps, nor have I tried to wash anything suede before (that I can remember!). But I do have a few ideas for you... - If your half chaps are only lightly soiled, a lint brush might help get them clean. Just run the lint brush along your half chaps and this should pick up some of the dust. If that doesn't work, even try using your vacuum... - Did the half chaps come with washing instructions? Sometimes they'll have a tag in them somewhere that gives cleaning information... if not, does the company that made your chaps have a website? You should be able to contact them and ask about cleaning instructions. Most companies have a website now which makes finding things much easier... you may even be able to find cleaning instructions directly on their website. - Some tack stores sell a special wash (I can't remember the name) that is supposed to be safe for suede items... like the knee patches on some breeches. This might be what you're looking for. I'm sure a sales rep at your local tack store can help find it. - Remember that when you do wash your half chaps, however that may be, to always close all of the buckles, zippers, velcro and / or snaps. This will help prolong the life of your washing machine, and also help keep the form of your half chaps... and stop the buckles, etc.. from getting caught in any other garments you've got in there. Maybe Sandy has some other suggetions? Good luck! Katie
