You must be secure enough in the saddle not to catch the horse in the mouth with your reins, and not sit too early and slam down onto your horses back after a jump. Both of these rider errors can sour a horse and lead to refusals - something that you wouldn't be able to deal with at such an early stage in your training. My best advice would be to listen to your coach. There is no set age, or time, when a rider learns how to jump. Your coach knows your riding style the best.
