Posted by Katie Another thing that works for some people is positive imagery. This can be done anytime - at a show or not. Go to a quiet place where you can either lay down or sit without distraction. Relax. Picture yourself riding your horse or pony through whatever cours(es) you'll be doing and doing them well. Picture exactly where you'll do a lead change, half-halt, breathe!, change stride, etc. Picture a positive outcome. Do this as many times as you can. When you finally do enter the ring, you'll feel as if you've ridden the course before and, really, you have! It'll become so 'routine' to you that it won't be a big deal anymore. After reading your last post, I also believe that taking lessons on a different horse or pony - one that isn't prone to refuse - will help you a great deal. Once your confidence is rebuilt, you'll do much better. Take care & good luck! Katie
