I have exactly the same symptoms with my Wallstreet. It's beautiful, but very inconvenient. Usually I can move the screen a little and it will go back to normal. What is strange is that there will be blank spots on the screen and pixel garbage stuck to the cursor for a little while, until I close some programs or open new ones. It's pretty alarming. And, yes, there is play in the hinge. Sounds like the video cable is grating itself to pieces in there. Yuck.
