Posted by Louis Hinman have looked at new ibook and tibook, no thanks. would like to add powerlogix 500, and 256 in lower slot, also, power-in has loosend from board, clutches leave screen rickety and weak. there is place on web, in phoenix, they say 100 for clutches, their new metal ones, and, i think, 150 or so for power/sound card replacement. i could handle getting everything back together, but i am afraid of the electrical shock hazard as i have never dealt with it before at this level. all my colleauges say it's no problem, but i would appreciate someone who has done it tell me it really is'nt hard. when i add 128 up top i just grounded my finger to the hd, but i believe this would be more inolved. i have 1 bad pixel, allways read, i hear i should probably feel lucky... you mean there isnt a hack to address that one pix and turn it off? machine will not recharge battery anymore, i have four and none will charge, could this be due to the power-in problem? has anyone fixed their power-in back to the board or replaced clutches with no problems, or been through any of the things i'm looking forward to? if so, any feedback would be much appreciated.
