I have good news. My Wallstreet hinges broke back last November ('00). It is now July of 2001. I have been procrastinating dealing with the idiots at Apple for a while now. I called in November to find out that the parts were back ordered, and someone would call me when they were available. They didn't call. When I called today, I REinformed the guy that I was aware of the problem with Wallstreets, and that I wasn't going to pay to have it fixed, since it was obviously an issue with almost all Wallstreets. He didn't dispute this, and Apple is absorbing the costs. Good luck with them if you try and call. I should have my notebook back with in a week.
