Apple has finally authorized 3rd party replacement of these parts. Tekserve in NYC ( http://www.tekserve.com )just did mine at $55/clutch + $90 labor, and they did it WHILE I WAITED -- no 5 day turnaround via Airborne Express. Perhaps Apple is feeling overwhelmed by the number of these repairs converging at their repair center?
