Did you download and install the Apple Modem Updater v 2.0 from Apples site? My wallstreet behaved just as yours until Apple updated the modem script (several moths after I got the computer.) Apple of course denied that there was anything wrong. But somehow they eventuelly decided to fix the problem even if they claimed it didn't exist...
