Late Bloomer Smokers

First off if your Newports aren't 100s you need to switch to 100s, they look better in a womans mouth & hand and will last longer so you might smoke less. It appears you love to smoke but want to quit but love that cigarette too much to just put it away. Like a baby has a security blanket you like to have a cigarette and get some security behind a blanket of smoke. Like a baby sucks a pacifier you love to suck that filter to get you're fix inhaling smoke which all leads you to go for another pack so when you need a fix you can get it. If you're going to quit you need to set a date make a firm decision get in touch with a quit smoking program, get the patch, the gum taper off and whatever you need to do to really quit. If you don't make a firm decision to quit you might as well go get a carton of Newport 100s maybe try to smoke less, put that ciggy in your mouth light up puff away & enjoy the fix only an addicted smoker understands. it's unhealthy but it sure feels good to smoke. You could make efforts to be healthy every other way to offset & hopefully reduce the effects of smoking. Please keep us posted.

: HI,
: It's been awhile since
: I've posted. I'm still
: smoking. I started on
: Marlboro lights, and
: smoked them for nearly a
: year before I had the
: urge to try something
: stronger. I tried
: newports.
: someone posted that I
: wouldn't be able to go
: back to Marb lights.
: Wow, were they right. I
: still battle the feeling
: that I'm addicted, and
: want to quit. But, what
: I didn't count on was
: the panicky feeling I
: get when I run out of
: cigarettes. So, before
: I even get the urge to
: have a cigarette, I'm
: buying another pack. I
: cannot break the cycle.
: I smoke one or two,
: swear it's my last pack,
: and by the time I'm down
: to one or two, simply
: KNOW I'll buy another.
: It's a very helpless
: feeling, and don't know
: that I'm cut out to
: quit. I enjoy it, but
: know for health reasons
: I should quit. I smoke
: just under a pack a day.
: Is it just me, or do
: others get this feeling
: that they have to buy
: another pack as they run
: out? Sarah
