Amy and all the others....I did go back and read your story....very good story. My wife is 33 and I am 35.
As to the guys whose wives are against smoking. I never thought my wife would ever smoke. She thinks its gross, repulsive etc... She has been bugging me to quit ever since we got married. She would not even kiss me after I smoke; I would have to brush my teeth before she would kiss me.
First, I never pressured her. I constantly brought up how sexy I thought smoking was and in return, she mentioned things she thought was sexy. Thats when we both agreed to try one anothers fantasies. She only agreed to hold a lit cigarette....not take a drag at all. The alcohol helps in this situation. She then tried puffing on it without inhailing and then she took the plunge. She did this because she knows it a huge turn on and I was willing to drop it the moment she felt uncomfortable. Now, I did have to do something that she really wanted and honestly, I was dead set against her "thing", but did it for her.
Second, be patient. Smoking is not as acceptable as it was 10, 15 or 20 years ago and it may take persistance and understanding for her to smoke. You may have to try something you do not want to do or thought you would never try. Communication is the best advocate.
I wish you guys the best in your attempts. I guess these boards will have to be you fantasy for a bit. A suggestion, if you click on the top of the pages for links, under one of the links you can find an archive of smoking stories. This gave me some really good ideas on how to broach the subject with my wife....just a thought
