Your subconscious is obviously sending you strong messages to start again. I suspect that means you really enjoyed it in the past. If that's true, why are you fighting it so? This is one part of living that you must truly miss. It's my belief that you only live once. You are craving the pleasure, the enjoyment and the thrill of your past life.
I say go for it and have a ball. You can always go cold turkey again if you want.
