You know, even after having fowl for 54 years, I'm still hesitant and remorsefull when the ax must come out. I ax'm if they're sick and when they eat eggs and even when I have a mean rooster, which thankfully isn't often. Eating eggs is something that I can seldom cure and sick birds are such a hazard to the rest of my flock that I just refuse to take the chance. I know you and robin have great success curing sick birds, but call me paranoid. My fowl are rare and are the product of many years of selective breeding. The idea that more than one might be lost because I was slow on the trigger just sends chills through these old bones. I would rather kill a $500 bird than risk it spreading some disease to any of the others. The ax is your friend......P
