I wastold by another board that you need to let him seeher for a while. I have a very old rooster and his girlfriend died not with him though so I put a hen in there for him but as with yours he was beating her up and chasing her so I took her out and put her in a small dog crate and let him see her for about a week IO then put her in with him nope he was still attacking her so another week and put her in he did good a few little pecks but nothing like before.
I have also waited till night dark of night and put a chicken in they are all in bed and when they wake up it's like OH you have been here all along.
I would try to get him to accept your hen FIRST by some means and if not then he needs to go to a new home or you can seperate them if you have a place to put him or he can go to the cook pot I have had a few rooster go to the cook pot because they were attacking me but not because they didn't except the hen.
