I prefer that my birds get some sort of non plant based protein, whether its fish or pork. Nutrena Game Bird does have animal protein but it has to be cut with something to lower the protein level.
I currently use a Game Cock Feed, made locally, that contains pork as the main source of protein. The protein level is 18% which is much lower than Nutrena's.
