My Mom used to have chickens when I was little and we had a similar incident and she had been hatching a bunch by our big wood stove. A couple of days after the attack Mom's eggs started hatching and she added them at night and the hen took all of them in and was quite content..I think Mom had a dozen eggs "on the stove" as she put it,LOL! All was well and happy peeps abounded! Good luck and hope it works as well for you!
