Hi Everyone,
I am a first grade teacher, and I built a new convection incubator to hatch chicks with my class. Naturally, I am nervous...hate to dissapoint my 20 little cherubs!
For heat, I have mounted 4 - 25 watt bulbs in the corners at the top of my incubator. I bought a herpstat thermostat to keep the temperature stable; however, I am concerned about the the temperature under the bulbs. If I put sealed jars of water to act as a heat sink, will this help regulate the temperature?
I put all of the eggs in the center of the incubator, none under the lamps, but I'm still concerned about the outer eggs. Also, I do rotate them so that they are not in the same place all day.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Tricia
