You can buy powdered vitamins at the feed store that are made for poultry, or I recommend Red Cell, also at the feed store, but in the equine section. Red Cell is really good and is a blood fortifier. Mix it in their water to look like weak tea and don't overdo it. I give it to my fowl a couple times a week. It comes in quarts and gallons.
I can't even imagine what would cause a rooster to become calcium deficient. I hope your vet is right as I know it wasn't cheap to find that out. Oyster shells are recommended for free choice feeding to poultry. Many folks have a seperate bowl of oyster shells in their pens. It's also available at feed stores. Egg shells are also a good source.
