Been reading these posts. I will continue to add light in the chicken coop because it means more eggs which is why we have the layers in the first place. They are not pets to me and I am not cruel to them. They get all they need from our good care and at present they free range all day. Somewhere between 2 and 3 yrs depending on egg production, they will become stew hens and a new batch of layers will start laying. I am a practical man and a good and caring stockman. I refuse to be anal or obsessive. No offense meant here; just posting what I will or won't do; who I am and what I am not...
