Hello, Mary
Look into reducing noise by putting in buffers between the hens and the neighbors. May be some bushes or small trees. Plants or buildings can break up sound waves. I got a rooster by mistake when I bought my chicks. When he started crowing My neighbors talked me into keeping him. They said he reminded them of their younger days. Also they wanted their grand children to see him and learn where food comes from. I am also lucky that the city limits Stops at my yard. I am the first house outside the limit.Best wishes!
