I have one duck so far that is just a bit over 24 hours old now. One egg went bad and two more I am waiting to see...
My lonesome little duckling is in a tote, in the loft portion of my art studio where there is a gas stove, w/a heat lamp above him keeping the temp to around 97-100 degrees. The little guy (I think it's a male) thinks I am Mommy and my daughter is a flock member. He is eating, drinking, peeping, running around.... falls asleep in our hands. I can point to his food, and he pecks it up. He is VERY loud when he is lonely and this can be at 3 in the morning!
I guess this little guy will really be a pet. We are excited.
