Thank you so much for your advice. The bloodied area is all around under her tail. It doesn't look like there is any new blood. The other girls are treating her well. She seems to like being with the other birds so when we are home and can keep track of them we have them out to-gether in their run. When by themselves, she is in a large box in the hen house with food and water so she doesn't feel isolated. I know it sounds stupid but it seems like she likes being with the other girls. I'm not quite sure what the White Leghorns are supose to weigh....but she is of considerable less weight now than the others. When we had her at the vets (they charge us $40.) she was only 1 1/2 pounds. I think they go about 4 or 5 pounds but don't quote me, I am very new to all of this and only know what I've read about them and what I have heard from other people who own chickens. My husband and I just feel so bad about her. We raised them from the time they were little yellow peeps in our livingroom in a watering trough. ( I know talk about white trash..lol) And I have to admit I was very happy to have them go out doors in their own house. I just can't believe that there aren't vets in our area (up state NY) that treat chickens. What kind of antibiotics do you recommend? I will get some for her to-morrow after work. I am sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by internal laying. I've not come across that term before. The Vet did give her an internal exam, would she be able to tell by that if she was laying internally? Again William, thank you so much for your help.
