We have a young pullet (1 of 6) who started saying eggs about 4 months ago. Last week I noticed she had a wet tail and blood there. We have had some very big eggs from our girls but don't know who it that's laying them. So I was wondering what kind of symptoms a chick has with a blowout of the vent. This week she is not very interested in food, her comb is not bright in color like before and looks almost like it's rotting. The poor little thing is all droopey in posture and just not herself. Found a vet to take a look at her and all they could tell me was that she wasn't egg bound. There isn't anyone in this area who treats the poor things. She is down to one and a half pounds and is a White Leghorn. I sure would appreciate any help anyone has. She is a layer but also a pet. Hope someone out there can help us with Geraldine. Oh and all of the other girls are just as healthy as can be. Thanks, Cheryl
